Payment Terms

Payment of Course Fees

By registering for a Fiðlufjör course, the customer agrees to pay the course fee, and upon registration a binding agreement is established between the parties.

Once you have completed registration for a course purchase with Fiðlufjör through the school’s website, you have 14 days to withdraw from the purchase and request a refund. This does not apply, however, if the course purchased begins within 14 days from the date of registration and purchase.

If a participant is unable to attend the course, notice must be given at least 7 days in advance, and the purchaser may receive a 10% refund.

Sibling Discounts

Sibling discounts vary. Full tuition must always be paid for one child; the next child receives a 15% discount on their tuition fee.

Fiðlufjör reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel courses, for example if the minimum number of participants is not reached or due to staff unavailability. In such cases, purchasers will be offered a full refund of the course fee.

The seller guarantees full confidentiality regarding all information provided by the purchaser in connection with the transaction. Under no circumstances will information be disclosed to third parties.

Governing Law and Venue

This agreement is governed by Icelandic law. Any disputes arising from it shall be brought before the Reykjavík District Court.

 

Privacy Policy – Fidlufjor

This Privacy Policy is based on Icelandic Act No. 90/2018 on Data Protection and the Processing of Personal Data. Fidlufjor is committed to protecting the personal data of participants in its annual violin courses and to processing such data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Personal Data Collected

We collect personal data necessary for course registration, including:
- Name of the participant and/or legal guardian
- Email address and phone number
- Age or national ID number of children
- Payment information

Purpose of Processing

Personal data is processed solely for the purpose of:
- managing course registrations,
- communicating with participants and legal guardians,
- handling payments and organising courses.

Photography and Video Recording

During the courses, photography or video recording may take place in connection with the activities of Fidlufjor, for example for documentation or promotional purposes.

Images and recordings are used only for informational and promotional purposes related to the activities of Fidlufjor (e.g. on a website or social media). Special care is taken when images include children, and images are not published unless deemed appropriate.

Participants or legal guardians may at any time request that images or recordings of themselves or their children are not taken or published.

Data Retention

Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary for the operation of the courses or as required by law.

Disclosure to Third Parties

Personal data is not shared with third parties unless required for payment processing or by legal obligation.

Rights of Data Subjects

Individuals have the right to access their personal data, request correction or deletion, object to processing, or request restriction of processing.
